Qaiser hits 130 in practice tie

LAHORE, Sept 10: Qaiser Abbas strengthened his claims for inclusion in Pakistan ‘A’ squad by stroking an unbeaten 130 off 120 balls in the opening trial match at Gaddafi Stadium Tuesday.

Qaiser, who blasted 12 fours and four sixes, helped Sultan Rana XI reached 255 all out in 50 overs against Aqib Javed XI. Fellow left-hander Asim Kamal, contributing 61 off 74 deliveries and spiced with four hits to the fence, put on 148 for the fifth wicket.

Aqib Javed XI, however, won the match by scoring 256 for eight with one ball to spare. Yasir Hameed struck 79 while Taufiq Umar made 43.

The three-match series is part of finalizing Pakistan side for  the forthcoming series against Sri Lanka ‘A’.
