SUKKUR, Sept 10: The Internet users of upper Sindh and Dera Bugti, Balochistan, are facing great hardships as the lines remain inaccessible for hours.
In Sukkur, even though two big Internet companies — Pak-net and Jaws — were set up three years ago but both have failed to provide satisfactory service to the clients of the city, especially the former.
One of the main reasons for the unsatisfactory service is that Pak-net has only 20 lines which are simply insufficient for the large number of users of upper Sindh and some parts of Balochistan.
Several information technology experts believe that unless a server is not installed in Sukkur or the number of lines is not increased to at least a 100 the service is unlikely to get any better.
They said that in the evenings specially the load increases tremendously on these 20 lines as a result of which the users suffered.
Jaws definitely provides better service and is accessible quickly.
However, the users have been facing problems ever since some fault developed in their system a week ago. And until the fault is not rectified quickly, the users will continue suffering.
The clients of Sukkur, Shikarpur, Khairpur and other parts of interior Sindh will continue suffering until the number of lines is not increased sufficiently.
Besides, a server needs to be installed badly.
The users have demanded that both Pak-net and Jaws improve their services on a permanent basis as soon as possible.
