HYDERABAD, Sept 10: Workers of the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Women’s Wing from Hyderabad, Dadu, Badin, Mirpurkhas and other towns staged a bare-foot protest march against rejection of the party chairperson’s nomination papers on Tuesday.
The protestors warned that the workers of the PPP (Women’s Wing) would take to the streets and court arrests in massive numbers if the nomination papers of benazir Bhutto were not restored immediately.
The march began from Haider Chowk and ended at the local press club here. The protestors were carrying party flags and portraits of Benazir Bhutto and were raising anti-government slogans. They also staged a sit-in for quite some time.
Provincial leaders of the PPP (Women’s Wing), Ms Shagufta Jumani and Nuzhat Pathan as well as Noorunnisa Abro, Dr Khalida Mendhro, Farzana Patodi, Zulekha Sehto and others addressed the protestors on the occasion.
They said that Benazir Bhutto was the leader of the masses and the government was murdering democracy by keeping her out of the elections.
They announced that a protest demonstration will be held outside the Sindh High Court building on Wednesday.
