KARACHI, Sept 10: Seven ships carrying containers, high speed diesel and to load naptha are expected to arrive at the outer anchorage on Wednesday, according to KPT sources.

Berthing activity at the wharves was slow owing to delayed arrivals and as a result only one ship, Kota Wajar to unload and load containers were berthed after the departure of four.

Four ships, Australia Bridge, Bunga Masempat, Kota Wajar and Iwato departed, while Dainty River, Melis, Sima Kija, Islamabad and Bow Cedar are due to sail out on Wednesday.

The berth occupancy was modest at 33 and 50 per cent both at the dry wharves and the oil piers respectively.

Cargo handling activity at the wharves was fairly active where a total tonnage of 63,823 tons comprising 29,303 tons of export cargo including 13,780 tons of molasses and 34,520 tons of import cargo was handled.

The following ships are due on Wednesday: Al-Maqwa, with high speed diesel, Skow Hegan, to load 24,500 tons of naptha, Kota Tegap, Winco Feeder, Dagmar, with containers, CEC Courage, with project cargo and Svenia, with general cargo.

Port Qasim

KARACHI, Sept 10: Two ships with furnace oil and containers were arranged berths at Fotco Oil Terminal and Qasim International Containers Terminal during the last 24 hours, says a PQA press release on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, another ship Enricher with containers was also expected to arrive at the outer anchorage on Tuesday.

Seven ships, Goa, Hyderabad, City of Edin Burg, Jian She-36, Oktem Aksoy, Astro Pegasus and Ermis were at the wharves loading/discharging wheat, containers, edible oil, general cargo, furnace oil and iron ore respectively.
