FAISALABAD, Sept 8: The ‘assault’ victim has appealed to the Punjab governor to save her life as the accused’s hirelings are threatening her with dire consequences.
Talking to this correspondent on Sunday, the house maid said she belonged to a poor family having no security. Fearing she might be kidnapped, the girl demanded protection from the government.
She retold that accused Rafiq asked her to bring him a glass of water and then assaulted her in a locked room. She said the accused threatened to kill her, if she let the cat out of bag.
During confinement, she said the couple had provided her food thrice a day and also offered her various incentives for hushing the case. However, she said she managed to escape a fortnight back.
Meanwhile, a majority of boarders had gone homes as there had been no academic activities in the college for the last six days.
The investigation has been transferred to police Assistant Superintendent Shahzad Sultan. Police sources told this correspondent that the ASP had summoned the accused and her wife who insisted they had been implicated in the case by some staff members.
At a press conference on Sunday, the accused said they would fight in the court and prove their innocence.
