NAWABSHAH, Sept 7: The Sakrand police have booked 21 persons for water theft under the Irrigation Act 61/62.
Gul Sher Khan, the SDO irrigation, found the frames of watercourse No. 1R, 1AL, 2AR, and 4R tampered with and extra water being drawn by the growers.
The SDO reported the matter to the Sakrand police and lodged an FIR against Syed Imdad Mohammad Shah, Mir Hassan Magsi, Usman Keerio, and Mir Mohammad Keerio.
Darogha Ghulam Ali found the watercourse No. 3R, 3AR and 5AR of Sakrand minor broken and widened and lodged an FIR against Ghulam Hussain Mugheri, Mumtaz Khichi, Sadhi Khichi, Shabbir Lakho and Dhani Bux Chohan under the Irrigation Act.
In another report, an irrigation official, Shadi Khan, lodged an FIR stating that Gullo, Nazar Mohammad, Wallan, Moto, Sher Mohammad Unnar, had forcibly opened the gate of Trighat regulator of Rahab Shah minor.
PML (Q): The former Chief Minister, Sindh, Liaquat Ali Jatoi, while talking to newsmen at Bandhi, said Pakistan Muslim League (Q) was the only party, which would free the society from corrupt politicians and bureaucrats.
He alleged that the zila Nazim, Nawabshah, was violating the local government laws to get votes for her sister, Azra Pechwoo.
