Welfare schemes for women

MULTAN, Nov 9: The government has introduced schemes of small credit and micro loans for the welfare of women.

This was stated by Punjab Social Welfare Minister Shaheen Attiqur Rehman at a seminar arranged by the Unicef here on Friday.

She said all government and social institutes should contribute towards the welfare of women for they were playing a vital role in the economic development of the country. Efforts should be made to promote equality and rid society of social injustices, she said.

By acquiring skills in handicraft, women could share the burden of their families, she said.
