ISLAMABAD, Sept 6: A candidate of Mutahidda Majlis-i-Amal (MMA) for NA-48, Mian Muhammad Aslam, has warned the Capital Development Authority (CDA) not to resume development work at Sri Saral village unless liabilities of all the affected people are settled.

Speaking at a corner meeting here at Karachi Company, he assured the villagers that his party would join them in their fight for rights and “would not allow the CDA and the Islamabad administration to resume the work”.

He condemned the incident of July 28 and promised the villagers that if elected he would ensure that all those responsible for this act were dealt according to the law.

He also vowed that he would get electrified each and every village of Islamabad and would ensure supply of natural gas and water in the suburbs.

He also promised to strive for uniform educational policy in the country and establishment of schools and colleges in all the villages of Islamabad.

Criticising the policies of the previous governments, he said they plundered the national wealth leaving the masses on the mercy of military rulers.

Meanwhile, speaking at a meeting in the same area, Col Sanaullah of Pakistan Awami Tehrik said a government led by Dr Tahirul Qadri could ensure true democracy in the country.

He said all the problems being faced by the country could be resolved with the enforcement of Islamic order in the country.

He too criticised the policies of the previous governments and said they did not serve the interests of masses.

The PPP candidate for NA-49, Syed Nayyar Hussain Bukhari, held a corner meeting in Tarlai Kalan village on Friday.

He said the government had banned the processions in the country to stop his party from demonstrating its strength.

He said the PPP would restore all the fundamental rights “usurped by the military rulers”.
