KARACHI, Sept 5: Four ships carrying DAP fertilizer and containers are due to arrive at the outer anchorage on Friday, according to KPT sources.

Berth occupancy at the oil piers rose to 67 per cent owing to steady arrivals tankers, while it remained modest at 38 per cent at the dry wharves.

Five ships, Al-Wajba, Kota Berani and MSC Delia to unload and load containers, Jiao Cheng to offload and load general cargo and Chemstar King to unload palm oil were berthed after the sailing of four.

The ships, which departed included Honor River, APL Heddah, Al-Wajba and Stolt Hawk, while Johar, Cleveland, Hyderabad, MSC Deila, Chitral, Chemstar King and Oriental Bright are due to sail out on Friday.

Owing to larger handling of the oil tankers, the total tonnage rose to 89,029 tons comprising 11,877 tons of export cargo and 77,152 tons of import tonnage, notably oils totalling 54,000 tons.

The following ships are due on Friday: Adelina and Ulysses, with 24,987 and 31,494 tons of DAP fertilizer, Wan Hai-303 and Kota Terajv, with containers.

The following are scheduled to arrive on Saturday: Sima Kija, with containers, Lecong, with general cargo and Melis to load 3,000 tons of molasses.
