ISLAMABAD, Sept 5: The Central Board of Revenue(CBR) has reduced the duty drawback rates on a number of textile items, but increased on polyester staple fibre. CBR made amendments in the SRO 412 issued on June 18, 2001 by replacing the schedules VII, VIII, XI, XXII, XXIII, VIV and XXV. The new rates would be effective from September 4, 2002, said a notification issued on Thursday.
The duty drawback rates reduced from the budgetary rate of Rs9.84 per kg to Rs3.90 per kg on 100 per cent viscose staple fibre yarn; from Rs6.44 per kg to Rs2.52 per kg on viscose staple fibre blended yarn (65pc viscose staple fibre 35pc cotton); from Rs5.02 per kg to Rs1.95 per kg on viscose staple fibre blended yarn (50pc viscose staple fibre 50pc cotton); from Rs3.05 per kg to Rs1.17 per kg on viscose staple fibre blended yarn (30pc viscose staple fibre 70pc cotton) and from Rs1.64 per kg to Rs0.58 per kg on viscose staple fibre blended yarn (15pc viscose staple fibre 85pc cotton).
The duty drawback rates reduced from Rs14.20 per kg to 10.03 per kg on 100pc acrylic staple fibre yarn; from Rs9.30 per kg to Rs6.52 per kg on acrylic staple fibre blended yarn (65pc acrylic staple fibre 35pc cotton); from Rs7.20 to Rs5.01 per kg on acrylic staple fibre blended yarn (50pc acrylic staple fibre 50pc).
