Riba-free dollar saving scheme

LAHORE, Sept 4: Al-Meezan Investment Bank Limited, the pioneer of Islamic banking in Pakistan, will launch its riba-free dollar saving account scheme shortly.

“Minimum deposit required to open account is $500 and depositors with a minimum average monthly deposit of a similar amount will be eligible for profit,” Najamul Hassan, General Manager of the bank told executive committee members of the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry here on Wednesday.

Managing Director of Pak-Kuwait Investment Company Zaigham Mahmood Rizvi and President Al-Meezan Investment Bank Irfan Siddiqi were also present on this occasion.

Najamul Hassan said that Pakistan’s first truly Shariah-compliant car financing scheme had been launched in Karachi and added that the scheme would be launched in Lahore.—APP
