SUKKUR, Sept 2: The degrees produced by the former Sindh minister and SDA candidate for PS-18, Jacobabad VI, Sardar Salim Jan Mazari, has been challenged on Monday by his opponent and PPP candidate Ghalib Hussain Domki.

Salim Jan Mazari has submitted a graduation certificate of an educational institution called the American International University, London (UK), according to which he had done the graduation in December 1997.

According to the objection of his rival before the election authorities, Salim Jan Mazari had contested the 1997 elections held in February in which he had mentioned his educational qualification as Intermediate.

Interestingly, a certificate of the same university was also produced by another aspiring candidate from Matli (Badin), Syed Puppo Shah, but it was contested by a rival candidate and was rejected by the returning officer concerned.

Salim Jan Mazari is also a candidate on NA/210 on the ticket of the SDA where the PPP have inducted Imran Khan Bejirani.

ELECTION COMMISSION: The Election Commission has established the election tribunals of the High Court of the Sindh Bench at Sukkur which will finalize the appeal with effect from 07-09-2002 to 13-09-2002.

According to an official press release issued by the Election Commission on Monday, Justice Syed Zawwar Hussain Jafri, heard the appeals of the National Assembly from 198 Sukkur I to NA-217 Khairpur III , while Justice Mohammad Sadiq Leghari heard the appeals from PS-1 Sukkur to PS-42 Larkana-VIII.

model city: Sukkur district Nazim Syed Nasir Hussain Shah has said the district government was trying hard to develop Sukkur as a model city.

He was speaking at the inaugural ceremony of the Sui Gas Line to Shaikh Muhalla, Qureshi Goth, here on Monday. The scheme would benefit more than 2,000 people of the area.

He said the district government was working hard to provide basic amenities to the villages of the district.
