Driver killed in encounter

TOBA TEK SINGH, Sept, 1: The driver of a rented car hired by a police party was killed on Sunday in an encounter near Pirmahal.

The Pirmahal police team headed by ASI Asghar Ali was patrolling in the private car when three dacoits came across them near Chak 625/26-GB. In an effort to escape from the scene, the outlaws fired at policemen, injuring driver Ghulam Mustafa seriously. Police also returned the fire, but the dacoits managed to escape by taking advantage of the standing crops. The injured died while being shifted to a local hospital.

ALLIANCE: Former PML-N MNA Chaudhry Asadur Rehman, a candidate for NA-92 (Kamalia), has said that there is no chance of adjustment of his seat with former PPP MNA Khalid Ahmad Kharal.

Talking to newsmen here on Sunday, he said that he made an alliance with independent candidate Syed Asad Abbas Shah of PP-89 (Pirmahal).
