SIALKOT, Sept 1: A farmer on late Saturday was shot dead by dacoits on resistance during a dacoity in Khanaanwali village (Philora), Pasrur tehsil.
Nazim Ahmad (50) was asleep in his outhouse when unidentified dacoits entered the house and held him up at pistol point. They killed the old man with repeated blows of bricks for holding them out. Later, the outlaws escaped with the peter diesel engine.
Police have registered a case.
Meanwhile, a patwari, his wife and their relative woman were injured seriously by dacoits for offering resistance during a dacoity in Muhallah Islamabad, Shakargarh.
Four armed dacoits barged into Mushtaq’s house on Zia Road and made the inmates hostage and started collecting cash, ornaments and valuables. The outlaws opened fire when the inmates put up resistance, wounding critically three of them. Later, the culprits fled with the booty worth Rs0.5 million. The injured were admitted to the Shakargarh Civil Hospital in critical condition.
