KARACHI, Sept 1: The body of a young man was found in a graveyard in North Nazimabad on Sunday morning.

Police said that an unknown caller informed the Shahrae Noor Jehan police station of a body lying in the Usman Ghani Colony graveyard. Police reached the spot and found the body of an unknown young man.

A duty officer at the police station said the victim, in his mid 20’s, had received two bullets in the abdomen, two in the chest and one in the temple.

“It seems the assailants kidnapped the victim from somewhere else and shot him in the graveyard some time during the night”, said the duty officer.

The body was shifted to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for postmortem examination. Later it was shifted to the Edhi morgue for identification.

SHOT DEAD: A middle-aged man was shot dead by unknown persons in Lea Market on late Saturday night.

Police said the victim Mohammad Sadiq, aged 55, was a resident of Noorani Building Khajoor Bazar, Lea Market. He was going home at the third floor in the Noorani Building when unknown persons shot him in the neck and escaped. Police said that the incident took place between 1:30 am to 2 am. However, police was informed of the body on Sunday morning.

Police said that when he was attacked the victim was carrying some articles which lay scattered besides his body.

“The victim’s pockets were totally empty, which suggests that the attackers might have deprived him of cash”, said a police official.
