Gang of carjackers arrested

LANDI KOTAL, Aug 31: Authorities in the Jamrud subdivision of Khyber Agency arrested three notorious criminals, including their ringleader, involved in hijacking of cars, here on Saturday.

The assistant political agent, Jamrud, acting on a tip-off, raided a house in Ghundi area and arrested Akram and his two accomplices.

According to a press note issued by the administration, Akram, impersonating as a medical practitioner, was wanted by the Charsadda police in a murder case.

Akram and his gang had kidnapped one Yamlikha Khan from Peshawar a year back and released him after receiving a huge ransom amount.

Yamlikha Khan’s car was still in the use of Akram and his accomplices.

The administration also recovered the car from his house in addition to unlicensed weapons, intoxicants, syringes and police uniforms.
