TORONTO, Aug 31: PIA’s Canada-bound flight PK 781, which was delayed at Birmingham, England, on Friday after security alert, arrived in Toronto on Saturday morning with all 192 passengers aboard.

Aviation sources said here that the flight was getting ready for its departure for Pakistan. “It is scheduled to take off from Toronto’s Pearson International Airport on Saturday at 9.30am (local time),” the sources added.

The luggage of one of the passengers set off a security alert and a full search of the aircraft was needed that caused the delay, according to information made available here.

A male passenger was detained and questioned, but was later released. The name and nationality of the passenger was not officially disclosed but one source said he was a Pakistani Canadian. After thorough checking, it was confirmed that his luggage did not contain any objectionable article.
