KARACHI, Aug 28: The Pakistan Telecommunication Company has yet to rectify a large number of telephone connections which broke down following the rain in the city.

Sources told Dawn on Wednesday that in the wake of the rain on Monday and Tuesday around 4,500 telephone connections had broken down. “The areas where telephone connections were affected included Denso Hall, Burnes Road, PECHS, Lines Area, Site and Baldia. Some telephone connections broke down when rainwater seeped through the phone cables,” they explained.

They added that while the PTCL had rectified around 2,000 telephone connections, some 2,500 telephone lines were still not working.—Staff Reporter
