HANGU, Aug 26: NWFP Governor Syed Iftikhar Hussain Shah said on Sunday that the provincial government was spending Rs8 billion on the government machinery.

Speaking at a public meeting in Doaba, the governor said that though the government was striving hard to minimize the non-development expenditure, yet the burden was unbearable. Partly, he put the blame on the setting up of districts on political considerations by the past governments. “We avoid to create new tehsils and districts. Rather we are following a policy to create small towns to redress the grievances of people,” he said.
