BADIN, Aug 26: Different parts of Sindh including Badin recieved rain on Monday.
A moderate windstorm, followed by a heavy shower, brought a welcome change in weather here.
The day began with a bright sunshine which continued till noon, when all of a sudden, clouds gathered on sky and wind started blowing, followed by a rain.
The rain lasted only 40 minutes and filled the low-lying area of the town with water.
The rain relieved the people from the scorching heat that had gripped the area for the last two weeks.
Nawabshah: The people of Nawabshah District including Sakrand, Qazi Ahmed, Daulatpur, Daur, Jam Saheb, 60 miles, Bandhi and Sarhari heaved a sigh of relief when it finally rained in their villages on Monday.
The weather became pleasant and the people came out on the roads to enjoy the change.
The maximum temperature, however, remained 40 degrees Celsius.
DADU: The power supply and telephone system were suspended in various parts of Dadu district due to rain and storm on Monday.
Thatta: Different parts of Thatta district — including Thatta city, Sajawal, Daro, Chuhar Jamali and Jati —recieved the first heavy shower of this season on Monday.
Knee-deep water accumulated in the low lying areas of some of the coastal towns.
With the first drop of rain, power supply to different towns was suspended, which was not restored till filing of this report.
Agriculturalists say that the rain will prove beneficial for standing crop.
