Love can you take me back sings Salman Ahmed

The front man for the band, Junoon, launched his memoir, Rock 'n' Roll Jihad, earlier this year. He has also recently released an album of the same title. Salman Ahmed has launched a video from his album, a song in English titled Love can you take me back, which is also available for view on YouTube. The video shows a couple who eventually find each other in a barren desert. Salman Ahmed's appearance in the video is shown via a portable screen which is found by the girl in the video. The video has been produced by Brian Joe and directed by Joe Miale. The song is beautifully composed, however, Salman Ahmed's own vocals sound rather weak in it.

Vichar diye shows Overload in Oslo

The percussion-based band is well-known in Oslo, Norway where they have been going for performances for several years now. Grabbing footage from their most recent concert in Oslo, Overload has just released a live concert music video of their song, Vichar Diye. The song is from their latest album (Pichal Pairee) which features the vocal talents of model/actress/singer Meesha Shafi — who was most-recently featured opposite Arif Lohar in the first episode of Coke Studio 3.

The video features the high-powered song and shows footage of a massive audience, consisting of both the desi community along with local Norwegians, swaying to Overload's music. The footage of the audience is mixed with footage of the individual band members performing as well. The video is fresh, energetic and fun to watch... a small substitute for the lack of concerts taking place in Pakistan.

Zeb and Haniya sing for Daam

The duo has sung on the official soundtrack for Daam, a television serial directed by Mehreen Jabbar and produced by Humayun Saeed and Abdullah Kadwani. The lyrics are by Mohammad Ahmed and the song has been produced by Shiraz Uppal. Appreciating the vocal talents by Zeb and Haniya, a listener (suryamusical) posted this message on the official YouTube video link “This music is as if silence talking to you. If Zeb's voice is like dream, then Haniya's voice is like reality, interspersing it with. Absolutely amazing. Pakistani music is reviving, whereas Indian music is rotting day by day. God send someone to save Indian music from Bollywood.”

Kominas release Manji vich dang

The controversial, Boston-based, punk-rock taqwa band have just released their EP Escape to Blackout Beach. Their first album, Wild Nights in Guantanamo Bay, was released in 2007. The band is composed of Basim Usmani, Shahjehan Khan and Imran Malik. The Kominas has recently released a track from its upcoming album titled Manji Vich Dang. The song is catered towards bhangra listeners with a touch of punk rock in it. The vocals, however, are nothing much to write home about.
