KARACHI, Aug 25: The Jmaiat Ulema-i-Islam (F), Sindh, has filed nomination papers of its candidates from the city for two seats of the national assembly and six seats of the provincial assembly, on the tickets of the Muttahida Majlise Amal (MMA).

According to JUI leader Maulana Abdul Karim Abid, the MMA has awarded 13 tickets for the national assembly and 32 tickets for the provincial assembly seats, including two NA seats and six PA seats from Karachi.

The party has fielded Maulana Shireen Muhammad from NA- 240, Dr Naseeruddin Sawati from NA-248, Maulana Omar Sadique from PA- 90, Hafiz Muhammad Naeem from PA-91 Abdul Baqi from PA-100, Mustafeezuddin from PA-115, Maulana Ehsanullah Hazarvi from PA- 128 and Syed Akram Shah Sheerazi from PA-130. Hafiz Hussain Ahmad, deputy secretary general JUI(F) and deputy secretary general MMA, talking to Dawn, denied the impression that the date for filing nomination papers had been extended on demands of political parties including the MMA.

JUP: The JUP has filed from Karachi five candidates for NA seats and 15 candidates for PA seats on the tickets of the MMA. They are Mohammad Salimuddin Qureshi from NA-243, Hafiz Mohammad Taqui from NA-247, Haji Abdul Majid Mewa Wala from NA- 249, Allama Syed Zahid Siraj Quaderi from NA-254, Mohammad Hashim Siddiqui from NA-256. Hafiz Abdul Shakoor from PA-89, Mohammad Hhumair Siddiqui from PA-92, Maulana Rajab Ali Naeemi from PA-95, Amanullah Khan Niazi from PA-96, Nasir Rizwan from PA-99, Mohammad Ali Siddiqui from PA-106, Mohammad Hashim Siddiqui from PA-107, Shabbir Abu Talib from PA-110, Mohammad Ahmad Siddiqui from PA-112, Mohammad Haleem Khan Ghauri from PA-119, Mohammad Ajaz Bhatti from PA-120, Inamullah Khan from PA-121, Mohammad Salim Noori from PA-122, and Abdul Aziz Rajput from PA-123.
