SIALKOT, Aug 24: Former MPA Chaudhry Armughan Subhani on Saturday filed his and his father’s nomination papers at Daska.

Former federal minister Chaudhry Abdul Sattar Variyo advocate, convicted by NAB court, is now in NAB’s custody. Both father and the son are contesting the general elections from NA-113 (Daska-cum-Pasrur).

Meanwhile, a great rush of candidates was witnessed on Saturday in the offices of returning officers in Sialkot, Daska, Pasrur, Shakargarh and Narowal.

PROTEST: Patwaris will start constructing patwarkhanas at Daska’s demolished wagon stand from Aug 28 if the TMA continues creating hurdles in transferring the land.

Representatives of patwaris from Sialkot, Daska, Narowal, Gujranwala, Wazirabad, Phalia, Mandi Bahauddin, Shakargarh, Lahore, the NWFP and Quetta also participated in the strike camp at Daska. Anjuman Patwarian Punjab president Zahid Din Sindhu was also present on the occasion.

Expressing complete solidarity with their colleagues, they chanted slogans against the Daska TMA. They said the Punjab government had already transferred the land to the local Patwari’s association, but the Daska TMA was creating hurdles in this regard.
