CHARSADDA, Aug 24: Aftab Ahmad Khan Sherpao, chief of his own PPP faction, has said that his party along with its allied parties would struggle for the uplift of the area.
Talking to Dawn before filling his nomination papers, he said that in Charsadda his party was a component of the tripartite alliance including the Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal and Pakistan Muslim League (QA), and on the national level it remained a unit of the Grand National Alliance.
He said the PPP-Sherpao if voted into power would work to improve the lot of poor who were facing price hike and unemployment.
When asked about the recent amendments and its impact on the new parliament, Mr Sherpao said new parliament would assert its importance and supremacy, but it depended much on the party that would get majority in the House.
He expressed the hope that the new parliament would complete its tenure and work for the betterment and prosperity of the country. Aftab Ahmad Khan Sherpao was flanked by Maulana Gauhar Shah and Nisar Mohammad Khan.
