KYC notch second victory

KARACHI, Aug 23: Irfan Ghani and Rizwan Khan stole the limelight in Karachi Youth Club’s (KYC) second victory in the Independence Day basketball championship when they beat Saddar Club 57-41 at Arambagh Floodlit Court Thursday.

Irfan scored 22 points while Rizwan Khan contributed 20 points including two three pointers. Nadir Ali fought the lone battle for Saddar Club with a brilliant score of 24 points laced with four three pointer.

Karachi Cantt Sports (CSC) defeated Dow Club 43-36. Muhammad Bilal spearheaded his team to victory with 15 points. Muhammad Umer scored 18 points but failed to save his team from defeat.

Arambagh grab crown

KARACHI: Host Arambagh Club clinched the Karachi City Government Jashan-e-Azadi basketball tournament when they beat National Club 35-26 in the final at Arambagh Club Floodlit Court Thursday. The winner led 25-16 at breather.

Aamir Khan emerged as the leading scorer by scoring ten points while Naveed Anjum scored seven points. Haseeb scored nine points for loser.
