PESHAWAR, Aug 22: NWFP Governor Syed Iftikhar Hussain Shah has said the government intends to introduce Federally Administered Tribal Areas (Fata) reforms in the shape of a comprehensive package, and directed the authorities concerned to finalize the proposals in this connection at the earliest.
He was presiding over a meeting at the Governor’s House, here on Thursday. The meeting reviewed the report of the committee of experts on Fata reforms, which was mainly concerned with the proposed amendments to in the Frontier Crimes Regulations (FCR).
The governor said the devaluation plan for Fata, judicial system as well as matters relating to law and order had already been finalized and with the finalization of recommendations regarding the proposed amendments in the Frontier Crimes Regulations, entire process would get the shape of a complete package.
The government, he said, was striving to give the package a concrete shape.
