HYDERABAD, Aug 22: The Sindh Professors and Lecturers Association (SPLA), has decided not to allow the DO, colleges, Hyderabad, to enter into the premises of any college or obey his orders.
The decision was taken at a meeting of the (SPLA), Hyderabad region, held at the Sachal Sarmast Arts and Commerce College here on Thursday.
The meeting demanded of the Sindh government to remove the DO who, according to participants of the meeting, was corrupt, inefficient and uncouth.
It adopted several resolutions, demanding to issue covering notification in respect of pending promotions and move-over cases, extend the date of entry test in medical colleges up to Sept 15, confirm college teachers working on deputation, remove the retired principal of the Government Sakrand College, eliminate shortage of teachers, computers, furniture, books and scientific equipments and charge the computer fee in colleges of the interior of Sindh at Rs30 per month.
The meeting further demanded to take action against those officials who were working against the declared policy of the boards of intermediate and secondary education and enforce the examination policy of the Sindh University as per earlier decisions.
In yet another resolution, the meeting demanded to withdraw the increase in admission fees, remove the principal of the Government Muslim Science College, Hyderabad, and fix an admission quota for children of college teachers in different colleges.
Khadim Hussain Khoso presided over the meeting which was attended by regional and district office-bearers and presidents and secretaries of different units of the SPLA.
