Weapons seized

KOHAT, Aug 21: Police seized a huge cache of arms and ammunition dumped in jungles of Ziarat Sheikh Ismail on NWFP-Punjab borders near Lachi, on Tuesday night.

The arms and ammunition was being brought from Darra Adam Khekl into Punjab through Kohat. However, the smugglers disappeared in the nearby jungle after a exchange of fire with the police team leaving behind the consignment, including four Klashnikovs, 63 Klashnikov chargers, four rifles, a dozen dynamites, 23 pistols of different bores, 12 boxing clips, 600 cartridges and 110kg of charas.—Correspondent
