ISLAMABAD, Aug 20: The Capital Development Authority has declared the interior ministry defaulter, as the latter has failed to pay the outstanding arrears of government hostel, a document revealed.

The document said the ministry had established a sub-jail in the government hostel to detain some senators of Mutahidda Qaumi Movement (MQM).

The amount which is stated to be recovered from the ministry is Rs55,190. However, the electricity and other utility charges could not be ascertained.

A source said earlier the ministry had asked the MQM senators to pay the dues. But, they refused to do so and protested against it.

Meanwhile, the CDA has asked all relevant District Coordination Officers (DCOs) to provide details of the property of those former parliamentarians who have to pay their dues so that their property could be confiscated under Land and Revenue Act 1967.
