LONDON, Nov 7: Former world heavyweight champion Lennox Lewis has parted company with his manager Frank Maloney after a row about money, he said on Tuesday.
Lewis, who is in training for his rematch with American Hasim Rahman on Nov17, has been in dispute with Maloney for several months and said the split was inevitable but amicable.
“I asked my business people to persuade Frank to sign a new arrangement but Frank’s request for a high amount of money meant that our association had to end,” Lewis told Sky Sports TV.
“In one sense I realise that Frank knows my career is coming to a close and he needs to continue his career as a promoter.—Reuters
