KARACHI, Aug 20: Six ships carrying containers, crude oil and chemicals are due to arrive at the outer anchorage on Wednesday, according to KPT sources.
Berthing activity at the wharves was active where five ships, Pretty River, Hyundai Stride, Kota Wangsa and Winco Feeder, to unload and load containers and Silver Bim to offload DAP fertilizer were berthed after the sailing of six.
The ships, which departed included Star Light River, Kota Wangsa, Iwato, Trom Petros, Shirvan and Sea Power, while Pretty River, Hua Shan, Winco Feeder and Wan Hai-235 are due to sail out on Wednesday.
Berth occupancy at the wharves fell to 33 per cent and 46 per cent both at the oil piers and dry wharves respectively.
Cargo handling activity at the wharves was active where a total tonnage of 61,266 tons comprising 18,535 tons of export cargo including 2,987 tons of wheat and 42,731 tons of import tonnage was handled.
The following ships are due on Wednesday: APL Cairo, MOL Sincerity, Mar Challenger, Khalid Ibn al-Waleed, with containers, Sorena, with 68,000 tons of crude oil and Yodo Gawa, with 1,000 tons of chemicals.
