40 Afghan nationals arrested

QUETTA, Aug 13: Pakistani border security authorities have arrested 40 Afghan nationals who crossed into Pakistan from Iran illegally on Monday.

Afghan nationals taken into custody for not having legal documents, officials said. “Afghans used unconventional route for entering illegally into Pakistan,” Tehsildar Taftan border town Asghar Mengal said, adding that investigation was in progress.

He said last week 31 Bangladeshi nationals were also arrested who crossed into Pakistani area illegally from Iran. All Bangladeshis had no legal travelling documents.

Pakistan has stepped up its security along Afghanistan and Iran borders to check illegal entry of Afghans.
