Banned LJ activist arrested

VEHARI, Aug 13: The local police claim arresting an activist of the banned Lashkar-i-Jhangvi from Mailsi late on Monday.

Ghulam Haider of Mauza Gujjar was going to Chak 59/WB to meet the family members of LJ terrorist Ejaz alias Jajji Tarar, who had been killed in police encounter. On a tip-off, police set up a picket and arrested him when he was on his way to Chak 59/WB.

Police also recovered five hand grenades, a Kalashnikov and scores of cartridges from his possession.

He was wanted in at least four cases of sectarian nature in Mailsi, police said. He has been shifted to some unknown place for interrogation.
