PARIS, Aug 13: French Prime Minister Jean-Pierre Raffarin on Monday reaffirmed his country’s opposition to US-British plans to invade Iraq.
At a meeting with his British counterpart, Mr Tony Blair, the French premier said Paris was not only opposed to an attack on Iraq, but also to any US-led action against President Saddam Hussein.
The meeting brought together the two prime ministers and their wives in the informal atmosphere of the Chateau Lagrezette, where Tony Blair is spending his summer holiday.
