GDA now an election alliance

LAHORE, Aug 11: The Grand Democratic Alliance is being converted into an electoral alliance and its president Hamid Nasir Chattha is going to apply for an election symbol on Monday.

The GDA is a coalition of about half a dozen smaller parties.

meeting: Punjab PML-N Secretary-General Khwaja Saad Rafiq held separate meetings with PML-C President Hamid Nasir Chattha and MMA leader Pir Ijaz Hashmi and discussed with them possibility of electoral cooperation.

Mr Hashmi told him that MMA’s parliamentary board was due to meet on Tuesday and it would discuss the matter at length.
