Sindh crowned champions

KARACHI, Aug 10: Sindh clinched five gold, two silver, and as many bronze medals to lift the President inter-

provincial boxing championship title late Friday night in Sahiwal.

According to information, Punjab scooped up two gold, two silver, and three bronze, to finish as runners-up, while NWFP settled at third place, grabbing two gold, one silver, and three bronze.

Balochistan, who could not secure a gold, won four silver and a bronze medal to finish fourth.

The two-day tournament was contested in nine categories by the teams from all the four provinces.

Light-flyweight: Mohammad Azam (Sindh)

Flyweight: Mohammad Khan (Punjab)

Bantamweight: Khalid Hussain (Sindh)

Featherweight: Mohammad Afzal Qambrani (Sindh)

Lightweight: Mohammad Ali (Sindh)

Light-welterweight: Jan Mohammad (Sindh)

Welterweight: Ejaz Hussain (Punjab)

Light-middleweight: Ajmal Khan (NWFP)

Middleweight: Ajmal Zakir (NWFP).
