KARACHI, Aug 9: The Independence Day basketball tournament was inaugurated by Ex-President, Karachi Basketball Association Iqbal Umer, at KBBC Floodlit Basketball Stadium Arambagh Thursday. The tournament being organizied by Karachi City District Amateur Basketball Association.

On the occasion an exhibition match was played between Bounce Club & Patrician (Stars). Bounce club defeated Patrician (Stars) by 51-34, at half time score was 36-34 in favour of winner.

On the opening day of the tournament two matches were decided. In first match Pakistan (Nets) beat Al Masoom Club Manora by 42-22 at half time score was 23-12 in favour of winner.

Patrician (Nets) 42-Jery-13, Sylvester-8, Elvis-5, Leyon-5, Neil-5, Ryan-4, Roger-2.

Al Masoom Club Manora 66 - Yawar-9, Kashif Hafiz-7, Tahir-2, Sajad Khan-2, Kashif Khan-2.

While in second match of the tournament St. Lawrance defeated Zameer Sports by 53-42.Half time score was 35-26 in favour of winner.

St.Lawrance 53 - Joel-16, Shane-13, Clint-6, Kurt-6, Ryan-5, Jeremy-5, Floyd-2.

Zameer Sports 42 - Dawood-18, Talha-9, Haider-8, Zafar-5, Jalal-2.

M/S Ehsan Ullah Shaikh, Tariq Hussain, Jaweed Ahmed, Ghulam Muhammad and Sultan Habib supervised the matches.
