ISLAMABAD, Aug 8: Shahid Zaman, who represented Pakistan at the recent Commonwealth Games has stayed back in England to compete in the SRA League.
A spokesman for the Pakistan Squash Federation (PSF) told Dawn Thursday that Shahid, world ranked 24, will be staying there for a few months to gain match practice.
Shahid’s stint in England is being sponsored by his new employers Bank Al Falah. “Training and playing there against some of the top players will do him a lot of good,” the spokesman said.
Shahid is likely to play in the Hong Kong Open later this month and then return to his training base. He has not confirmed though if he will be contesting the CNS Open in Karachi that follows the Hong Kong tournament.
