SUKKUR, Aug 8: The Ghotki police recovered the body of a eunuch, Fakir Khando alias Fatma, on Thursday.
The eunuch used to live in a room all alone and when she was not seen for three or four days and the room remained locked, rotten smell began emitting and the neighbours informed the police.
The police broke the door of the room and found the decomposed body with ears and nose cut.
The police said some bandits might have tried to take away her ornaments and when she resisted they cut her ears to take out her golden earrings and later killed her.
KILLED: Eight-year-old Farha Naz, student of class IV, was shot dead by a man near the Rohri Cement Factory on Wednesday.
Ghulam Sarwar, the father of the victim, had a dispute with Mumtaz over an encroachment in their street and was trying to demolish his house. Mumtaz had threatened him if he did not refrain from his activity, his children would be killed.
On Wednesday morning, Sarwar again approached the authorities for demolishing the house of Mumtaz which was constructed in the mid of the street.
Naz was returning from her school when Mumtaz opened fire on her. She was injured and taken to a hospital where she died.
The accused managed to escape.
PUMPING STATIONS: The district government will establish two disposal pumping stations in ADC Colony and Adam Shah Colony soon.
This was said by Sukkur District Nazim Syed Nasir Hussain Shah while presiding over a meeting at the DCO Office here on Wednesday.
The meeting also reviewed the progress of ongoing development schemes in the district.
Giving briefing, the executive engineer, public health engineering department, Sukkur, Nafees Ahmad Shaikh, said schemes costing more than Rs5 million would be completed within six months.
The main pumping station will cover the area of Clock Tower to Maka Drainage.
