RAWALPINDI, Aug 8: Tehsil Municipal Administration (TMA) would complete all the water supply schemes planned between 1985 and 1995 which were abandoned due to lack of resources.
Tehsil Nazim Raja Hamid Nawaz on Thursday issued orders to this effect at a meeting with TMA officials at his office.
Taking serious notice of the closure of these schemes, he said the water schemes had fallen prey to political interference. He vowed to root out discriminatory politics from his Tehsil and set a precedent of serving all the people irrespective of their political affiliations.
Twelve schemes in Chapranpur, Malkora, Samarial, Kamalpur, Mera Mohra, Kharkan, Tatral, Shah Khalid Colony, Dhamiyal, Dhama Syedan, Sagiree and Shadi Dhamiyal were left incomplete due to paucity of funds.
He said the public health department, which was merged with the TMA, had an amount of Rs2.5 million which was sufficient to complete these projects.
Mr Hamid issued express orders to TMA officials to complete these schemes in as short a time as possible.
TMO Col Najam told the meeting that the schemes would be completed by September 30.
