ISLAMABAD, Aug 7: Information Minister Nisar A. Memon has termed the latest incident of violence in occupied Kashmir as a plot to malign Pakistan.

Speaking to BBC Radio, he said: “First violence takes place here at Murree. The very next day a violent incident takes place there (occupied Kashmir).”

“It seems that those who have committed this are the same people who back the perpetrators of attack in occupied Kashmir,” he said.

Responding to Indian allegation that banned group Lashkar-i-Taiba was responsible for the incident in occupied Kashmir, he said: “This Indian game ought to have come to an end.”

The minister said: “We altogether reject the Indian assertions that violence is taking place because of Pakistan support.”

“It seems to me that it is because of the failure of the Indian foreign policy ... and it is again trying to present itself as oppressed. We never said that India did this here at Murree,” he said.

“But now I have been compelled to say that perhaps under some deliberate plan ... first do this here and then there ... It is just a plot to malign Pakistan,” he observed.

Replying to a question, he said it was up to the people of occupied Kashmir to participate in the election or not.

“The world has said. Even the United States has said that elections are not a substitute to plebiscite,” Nisar Memon said.

#SHARIF FAMILY:#/ The information minister said the Sharif family had gone abroad under an “administrative arrangement” and its members would face the consequences under the law if they returned. “I would frankly say they had gone abroad under an administrative arrangement and if they violate this arrangement the consequences would be the same as are of violation of the law.”

He said: “All the leaders who are outside the country have to face the cases against them and they know that if they return, legal action would be taken against them.”

Commenting on a report that efforts for rapprochement are on between the government and Sharif family, he said: “There has been no such talk, no dialogue is being made with any party.”—APP
