ISLAMABAD, Aug 2: Pakistan Muslim League (QA) President Mian Azhar has predicted victory for his party in the forthcoming polls, and claimed that it would form its own governments both in the Centre as well as in the provinces.
He was talking to his party’s leadership and workers on Friday here.
Azhar said: “By giving priority to contesting elections instead of returning unopposed and lifetime leaders, we have proved that before strengthening democracy in the country we will enforce democracy within the parties.”
“We will be confronting with the leadership whose politics was based on personal interests and plunder, and who have been exploiting the people through gaining power”, he said and added that the intra-party polls being held on Saturday were very important with reference to the future of democracy.
He said the PML(QA) being the largest political party was free of influential groups or any family, and instead it was occupied by the party workers who would play pivotal role in the forthcoming national elections and future decisions after the party polls.
PML chief claimed that his party alone could steer the country out of crisis, and it was ready to face the challenges of future.
Mian Azhar, referring to the intra-party polls, said,”I am against politicising these elections and will never indulge in levelling allegations against any party colleague since I am believer of difference of opinion among party workers on various issues”.
He said the true spirit of the party elections was not only to contest them, but also to admit their results and implementing them as well.
Underlining the PML(QA)’s principled politics, he said: “We have to create a society free of exploitation and run the government on federal parliamentary system by ensuring provincial autonomy. We stand for strengthening of national institutions and parliament’s supremacy through the restoration of Constitution and rule of law.”
