Gruelling schedule for England

LONDON, Aug 1: England’s leading cricketers are set to face seven months of non-stop international cricket after the schedule for this winter’s tour of Australia was confirmed Wednesday.

As well as the traditional five Tests against Australia from November to January, England will be involved in a triangular one-day series also featuring Sri Lanka.

Should they play in the third one-day final at Adelaide, on Jan 27, England will have barely a fortnight before their opening World Cup match against Zimbabwe in Harare on Feb 13.

Meawnhile, England face their latest-ever finish to a home international season.

The fourth and final Test of the current series against India is due to start at The Oval on Sept 5.

Nov 7-11: First Test (Brisbane).

Nov 21-25: Second Test (Adelaide).

Nov 29-Dec 3: Third Test (Perth).

Dec 26-30: Fourth Test (Melbourne).

Jan 2-6: Fifth Test (Sydney).

TRIANGULAR ONE-DAY SERIES:

Dec 13: Australia v England (Sydney, D/N).

Dec 15: Australia v England (Melbourne, D/N).

Dec 17: England v Sri Lanka (Brisbane, D/N).
