SHEIKHUPURA, July 31: A spare parts dealer, who sustained burns in a gas cylinder explosion on Tuesday night, died at the Mayo Hospital, Lahore, on Wednesday.
Reports said Ghulam Murtaza, his brother Babar and servant Asghar were unloading the gas cylinders from a pick-up when one of the cylinders fell on the ground and exploded. They received burns and were taken to the District Headquarters Hospital.
Later, doctors referred Murtaza to the Mayo Hospital due to his critical condition. He died on Wednesday. The condition of Babar and Asghar was stated to be stable.
Meanwhile, the local district administration has issued instructions to all the gas cylinders’ sellers to stop their business within the district.
KIDNAPPED: A boy was allegedly kidnapped for ransom by three people in Thattalia Qadir Shah village on Tuesday night.
Munir Ahmad, father of victim Zahid, told Khanqah Dogran police that his son was kidnapped for ransom by Afzal and his three accomplices.
He requested the police to take stern action against the culprits and recover him his son.
The police have started investigation.
