GUJRANWALA, July 31: The founder members of Pakistan People’s Party have rejected the house elections and constituted a parallel district organization.
At a meeting on Wednesday, the party’s activists alleged the leaders had nominated their blue-eyed in the name of elections and ignored their devoted activists. They termed the procedure a selection of candidates.
The veterans announced the office-bearers of the parallel body and apprised PPP Chairperson Benazir Bhutto and other senior members of the party of the shake-up.
Chaudhry Muhammad Rafiq Dhadra has been nominated parallel body’s president, Akbar Ali vice-president and Muhammad Akram Warriach and Rana Sikandar Iqbal secretary-general.
When contacted, PPP district President Chaudhry Abdullah Virk and Secretary-General Mian Azhar Hassan Dar claimed there was no legality of the formation of the parallel body.
DISMISSED: Newly-inducted SSP Saud Aziz on Wednesday dismissed two police constables from service and sent five policemen, including three sub-inspectors, to the police lines for an year on the charges of corruption and breach of duty.
Reports said the SSP got an inquiry conducted against constables, Gulzar Ahmad and Sarfraz Ahmad, and found them guilty. He also ordered forfeiture of two years service of Baghbanpura former SHO SI Tariq Mahmood and a year’s service of SI Muhammad Yousaf for breach of duty.
Meanwhile, ASIs Ziaullah, Amir Husain and Arshad Sandho, and constables Abdul Majid, Muhammad Imran and Muhammad Asif, were sent to the police lines for a year on corruption charges.
