Fake currency seized, two arrested

BAJAUR, July 31: The political administration of Bajaur Agency on Tuesday recovered fake currency notes, including Pakistani rupees and American dollars, and arrested two persons in Khaar, the agency headquarters.

Sources said the administration raided a house in Khaar on a report from a federal secret agency and arrested two criminals, namely Gul Zareen and Ali Gul.

The raiding party comprising the personnel of levies force, recovered fake currency notes amounting to Rs500,000 and $3,000 from the possession of Zareen and counterfeit notes of Rs450,000 from Ali.

According to the sources, the secret agency had reported to the political administration that the two had been involved in using counterfeit currency in the local market for the last many years.

During the preliminary interrogation, the accused have admitted to having brought the fake currency from the Darra Adamkhel.
