AL QUDS, July 31: The Israeli cabinet on Wednesday decided to expel to the Gaza Strip at least one relative of a West Bank suicide bomber who had attacked Israelis, political sources said after the meeting.
The man to be banished, who was not identified, will have 12 hours to appeal the decision, the sources said.
The decision emerged as the security cabinet met to consider new ways of tackling suicide bombings as intelligence reports stated 60 more such attacks were in the planning stages.
BOMB LAB: Israeli forces on Wednesday found a bomb-making factory in the building of the Palestinian Legislative Council in Jenin, an army spokesman said.
The soldiers found 300 kilos of improvised plastic explosives, 150 kilos of fertiliser, which could be used in bomb manufacturing, and 30 containers of acid, the spokesman said.
Army sappers blew up the laboratory, in a blast that also caused some damage to the building belonging to the PLC, the Palestinian parliament, he added. No arrests were made in the raid.
Jenin is one of the seven major West Bank towns which have been under Israeli re-occupation since June 19, after a series of suicide bombings.—AFP
