MIRPURKHAS, July 30: A fertiliser dealer, Deewan Das, was booked by the police for selling spurious fertilisers on Tuesday.

The assistant director, agriculture, Mirpurkhas, Mohammad Farrukh Ghayas, has lodged an FIR that the fertiliser dealer was selling spurious fertilisers as it was learnt from the samples taken from his shop, which were tested in the laboratory.

WATER THEFT: Two farmers, Ali Hassan and Akbar Ali Rind, were booked by the Kunri police for water theft on Tuesday.

Both were involved in water theft by tampering with watercourse No8BR of the Sanwari Shakh.

DC SESSION: The district council, Mirpurkhas, has condemned the arbitrary rise in the transport fares in the district and demanded that stern action be taken against those involved.

The meeting was held on Tuesday. It was presided over by Dr Ali Nawaz Shahani.

It adopted an unanimous resolution regarding it. Through another resolution, the session demanded that all the development schemes should be approved by the district council.

The members were told that it was mandatory under the law to hold at least 50 meetings in a year, but during the last year only 19 meetings were held.

Irshad Begum and Shamim protested that the female members were being neglected as none of their proposals was considered by the session.
