KARACHI, July 30: The administrative judge of the accountability courts, Rehmat Hussain Jafferi, remanded on Tuesday former navy chief Admiral Mansoorul Haq in the jail custody till Aug 13.

The former naval chief was booked by the National Accountability Bureau in a case of misappropriation of funds in the purchase of three container vessels for the Pakistan National Shipping Corporation in 1996.

The investigation officer, Altaf Hussain, told the court that a co-accused, Jawaid Ali, former chairman of the PNSC, was still untraceable and that efforts were being made to track down him.

The court ordered the IO to make the arrest of the absconding accused by the next date of hearing.
