Penalties decide two ties

LAHORE, July 27: Three more matches were decided in the Lahore city district inter-club football tournament at the Iqbal Park grounds Saturday.

Akhtar Abdur Rehman Club defeated Pence Club 5-3 on penalty-kicks after being drawm 1-1 at the end of stipulated time.

Irshad scored a goal for the Pence Club in the 10th minute. Shahzad restored the parity in the 20th minute to leave the decision on penalty -shootouts.

Nadeem Club beat Jabbar Memorial Club 1-0. with Waseem scoring the solitary goal of the match in the 40th minute.

Gulshan Ravi also faced tough competition before beating Gulberg Star 3-2 on penalty-shootouts. The score was 2-2 at the end of the allotted time.

For the winners, Dildar (10th minute) and Sharif (20th minute) scored goals in the stipulated period. For Gulberg Star, Zaheer (30th) and Dawood (35) shared the scoring honours.
